Watchmaster goes big – with locations in Berlin, London & Paris
While the Berlin-based company Watchmaster has already been in the black since December 2020 and succeeded in establishing its position as a market leader in the field of certified pre-owned luxury watches in Germany, it has now expanded to Great Britain and France. However, the expansion course is not the only result of the company's success. The Berlin offices, including the company's watchmaking workshop, which is also the largest in Berlin, have also been reorganised and redesigned in line with the new direction the company is taking.

Redesigned office and watchmaking studio in BerlinWith now more than 90 employees from 23 different nations and three different locations in some of Europe's most important capitals – London, Paris and Berlin – the main location at Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin was also adapted to the new requirements. This involved restructuring and redesigning the office and workplaces of approximately 70 employees in Germany in June 2021.
Redesigned Watchmaster office in Berlin
The Berlin office now has, among other things, a larger polishing studio for the thorough refurbishment of luxury watches, newly designed rooms to welcome clients and an optimised, more functional lounge for employees, which can also be used as a meeting room. The open-plan office was equipped with height-adjustable desks and offers several freely selectable workplaces that ensure greater exchange between the different departments. A spacious, bright meeting room connected to the open-plan office with a view of the New Church (German: Deutscher Dom) and the Concert Hall (German: Konzerthaus Berlin) offers space for creativity and productivity. Watchmaster's in-house watchmaking studio has also been reorganised and, as Berlin's largest watchmaking workshop, offers everything needed in terms of tools for watchmaking.

Watchmaster enters the stationary retail market
With the expansion to London, Watchmaster managed to re-enter the UK market after Brexit – with success, considering that the London location was immediately well-received by customers. In addition, with the well-established, traditional Parisian company MMC (Montres Modernes et de Collection), which has more than 30 years of experience in the trade with second-hand luxury watches, Watchmaster took over a major competitor. With this move, Watchmaster has now entered the stationary retail market as well.
Watchmaster in London – for Great Britain and beyondWith a showroom located at 45 Britton Street, the London location is right between Farringdon Station and London's "Diamond District" at Harrington Garden. With almost 500 watches currently in the UK online shop and the aim to significantly increase this stock before Christmas, the London office in Islington is gaining momentum. As a new location, however, Watchmaster's London branch will cover the watch market in the UK in the future and serve as a base for expanding into other markets. The team in London, which so far consists of nine employees, is an indication of Watchmaster's ambitions to grow and will play an important role in the future.
Acquisition of MMC in ParisShortly after opening the London branch, another announcement hit the headlines: "Online watch retailer Watchmaster takes over French competitor", according to a German Handelsblatt article from 4 July 2021.
Watchmaster in France: The MMC Boutique in Paris
With the acquisition of the experienced Parisian jeweller Montres Modernes et de Collection, Watchmaster is incorporating a strong competitor into the company. As an expert in the online trade of pre-owned luxury watches, Watchmaster will benefit from the expertise and reputation of the Parisian luxury watch retailer in the area of stationary trade. MMC's boutique is located in the heart of Paris' "Triangle d'Or", not far from other renowned brands such as Chanel, Cartier and Harry Winston, and was once described as " a pioneer in the development of the pre-owned and collectors' market in the world of watchmaking" by Forbes magazine. Watchmaster and MMC will join forces to conquer the stationary trade in addition to their online business.
Full of drive and confidence, Watchmaster heads towards the future and is looking forward to all the exciting challenges that lie ahead.
