The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M 212.30.41.20.03.001

An icon of the Seamaster Diver 300M models

Few models can look back on such a remarkable history as the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M. After it was launched in 1993, Frenchman Roland Specker set a world record in free diving in Lake Neuchâtel with the Seamaster Professional 300M on his wrist. In 1996, the timepiece had to face another, much harder test. The Seamaster was worn at an astonishing 3000 meters deep into the mountain lake of the Theodul Glacier, where it performed exceptionally under the toughest of conditions. It wasn’t long until Omega expanded the Seamaster range and began promoting it as a regular sports watch. Consequently, the manufacturer was able to bring swimmer Alexander Popov and tennis legend Martina Hingis on board as brand ambassadors.

1995 was not only marked by the triumph of Peter Blake in the America’s Cup, but also the premiere of “Goldeneye”, the 17th James Bond film in which Pierce Brosnan first put on the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M – a partnership that continues to this day, although Daniel Craig now plays the lead role. Over the course of these 25 years, the Seamaster Diver 300M has become a firm favourite among fans. Between 2010 and 2019, the Ref. 212.30.41.20.03.001 expanded the range with various versions and offers potential buyers a traditional Seamaster at a comparably low entry-level price.

Reasons to buy a pre-owned Omega Diver 300M 212.30.41.20.03.001

  • Production of the Omega 212.30.41.20.03.001 has stopped in 2019, so this model can only be purchased second hand.

  • Since it is now no longer being made, the Ref. 212.30.41.20.03.001 model has a high potential for increasing in value

  • The fact that James Bond has always served as an ambassador for the Seamaster shows just how robust and reliable these watches are – the iconic design goes without saying!

  • A reliable diver's watch with a sporty look and distinctive blue dial

  • Comparably low prices: pre-owned Ref. 212.30.41.20.03.001 models are available from €3,200 to €3,750 including box and papers.

  • Updates: ceramic bezel, co-axial escapement, easily adjustable bracelet

Invest in the Seamaster Diver 300M 212.30.41.20.03.001

From its first big appearance in “Goldeneye” (1995) until now, the Seamaster Diver 300M has remained true to its design language. The durability that the model offers is only equalled by the Speedmaster Professional. Only in 2018, the Ref. 212.30.41.20.03.001 model was given optical and technical updates, which even Q couldn’t have given James Bond at the time. The familiar Omega wave pattern disappeared from the blue dial, which makes it look much cleaner and, together with the perfectly proportioned skeleton hands, improves readability. Additionally, the bracelet and the 41 mm wide stainless-steel case have been refined with a satin finish. While Pierce Brosnan had to put up with an aluminium bezel, you can now rely on a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel. Thanks to a special metal alloy, the colour is even protected against wear and tear. As the name suggests, the Omega Seamaster can conquer ocean depths of up to 300 metres thanks to its helium escape valve.

The co-axial escapement invented by George Daniels is also new, which helps the Omega 212.30.41.20.03.001 achieve total precision and reduces the maintenance time of the watch through economical oiling. Inside beats the Calibre 2500 produced by Omega, which drives an automatic movement. The bracelet has also been given an update. It still promises sporty esprit, but the pushpins of the earlier models are now firmly screwed in, which makes it easier to adjust. So much quality naturally comes at price, which is why Omega set the RRP of this watch at €3,500. Omega also has the Ref. 210.30.42.20.03.001 successor model for €4,675, while pre-owned models are available at lower prices. In our online shop, you can buy a pre-owned Omega 212.30.41.20.03.001 from €3,250 (2016), in very good condition and with its original box and papers. So make your move soon as the prices for this model will only go up rather than fall in the future!
