The five most popular Ateliers deMonaco models

  • The Poinçon de Genève collection is a series of eye-catching three-hand watches. One can distinguish among the models with classic Roman numerals and those completely without any indices. The models, which have nothing on their dial except the three hands, have a striking background image depicting the famous Jet d'eau, the Geneva fountain.

  • The Admiral Chronographe Flyback Collection combines innovation and classic design. The models have two totalizers and Roman indices on the dial. Many models of the collection have a slightly transparent background, so that the complicated automatic caliber can be observed while ticking.

  • The most eye-catching women's series by Ateliers deMonaco is the Ronde de Monte. It comes with radiant, in fascinating shapes arranged, gemstone dials. Simpler models have only gems on the bezel where they surround an elegant dial with Roman indices. Perfect for any woman who loves the big show.

  • The Ateliers deMonaco Tourbillon collection is as elegant as it is stylish. On the dial there is a small sub-dial on the upper half of the watch indicating the hours and minutes, and on the lower half an impressive tourbillon with a small second. Inside is a precise automatic movement with 42 hours power reserve.

  • The big brother of this collection is the Tourbillon Répétition Minute. The striking skeleton dial with large, Roman indices, through which one can see the movement tick, makes this timepiece an instant eye-catcher. The models are available with round or square housing.

The history and philosophy of Ateliers deMonaco

The history of the luxury brand began when the watch company Frédérique Constant bought the Alpina brand in 2002. The watchmaker Pim Koeslag and the managing director Peter Stas developed together complications and new concepts, but found that the new ideas fit neither of the two corporate philosophies. So the idea of a new, more exclusive brand came up, with additional features and watches made of even higher quality materials. 2008 it was time and the two colleagues onboarded a third man into their circle - Robert van Pappelendam. Together they founded the brand Ateliers deMonaco. Originally, the headquarters was located in the watch capital Geneva in Switzerland. Even today, the inscription "Swiss Made" is still today one of the most sought-after signs of values in watchmaking. The founders, however, discovered that the city was overrun with ever-new brands and were looking for a suitable alternative. Monaco was close by. The city-state is known for luxury and the life of superlatives and has excellent connections to the Chinese financial market. So Ateliers deMonaco finally got it´s name. The company works exclusively with Swiss watch parts, most of which are supplied by Frédérique Constant.

The brand offers the perfect market for the complex and sophisticated complications that are under constant development by the founders. They are particularly proud of their tourbillon construction, which can be found on many models of the brand. Despite its recent history, Ateliers deMonaco already plays in the absolute top luxury class of watch brands in the world. Watches in the upper five-digit range are not uncommon. That is why it is always important for founders and employees to perfectly embody the company philosophy with each new model.
At the heart of every creation is the love of mechanical innovation and the quest to create unprecedented models and complications.

The palette ranges from handcrafted, decorative components, to in-house produced mechanical movements, up to skeletonized dials, revealing the elaborate movements inside.
Each element of a watch by Ateliers deMonaco demonstrates the technical competence and passion for the haute horlogerie.
