Buy pre-owned Cartier Santos Octagon watches online
With over a century of history, the Cartier Santos is one of the oldest series in the world and was the first wristwatch ever designed. With the
Cartier Santos Octagon, the series sought a modern feel and ventured into new territory. The characteristic feature of the
Santos Octagon, the
screwed octagonal bezel, is reminiscent of the Royal Oak designed by Gérald Genta.

Features of the Cartier Santos Octagon
As with so many Cartier series, the
design of the Santos Octagon was born from internal tensions. Many of the well-established visual features of the Santos series are swapped out in this model: the
dial is circular, and the
corners of the bezel are rounded, challenging the customary rectangular dial and case of the original. In 1978, Cartier also re-launched the Santos bracelet as a two-tone version. The yellow gold screws contrast wonderfully with the uniform steel links.
With
dimensions of 25 to 30 mm, the Cartier Santos Octagon is quite small and sits elegantly on most wrists. Inside the watch you can find either the precise and low-maintenance quartz calibres or the Cartier Calibre 90 automatic movement, which is based on the ETA 2892-A2 movement.
The Cartier Santos Octagon – a revolutionary vintage sports watch
Vintage watches are currently in fashion again. In particular, series that aren’t typical of the usual offering are now difficult to find. Watchmaster has
affordable vintage sports watches like the
Cartier Santos Octagon available, with an average price of approximately € 2,000. The Santos Octagon was launched in the early 1980s as a
classic stainless-steel sports watch and is available in three sizes: small (25 mm), medium (29 mm) and large (30 mm). Now more than ever, this makes them an attractive alternative, for all those who aren’t fans of the wide cases and thick profiles of current sports watches.

The design of the Cartier Tank is so timeless that it was rather difficult to give the model a moderate, modern update. However, Cartier succeeded in doing just that with the Tank Française which also offers the legendary design based on tank chains in yellow gold or as a two-tone version. The models are available with either quartz or automatic movements.

The Cartier Pasha was designed in 1932 for the Sultan of Marrakech and stands out thanks to its screw-in crown, which provides water resistance up to 100 metres. Today, the series is also available as a chronograph or as a luxurious dress watch with a diamond embellished yellow gold bezel.

Are you looking for something that combines the square design of the Tank and the sensual curves of the Pasha? With the Baignoire, Cartier celebrates the oval and offers a slightly elongated dial reminiscent of Salvador Dalí's melting clocks.
