Visual and technical features of the Beluga

The Ebel Beluga is particularly captivating on account of its round case shape and the refined use of diamonds and other premium materials. As a collection of women's watches, the Beluga excels in its pure sense for aesthetics and skillfully rounds out the appearance of its wearer. Made from stainless steel, gold or a combination of gold and steel, Beluga watches come equipped with a bracelet made from these metals or fitted with a comfortable leather strap. Diamonds or Roman numeral hour markers can be found on the dial, which is usually brightly coloured and shines at the wearer upon every glance.

Due to a substantially more curvaceous tonneau shape than found on its contemporaries and the relatively slim bracelet, the Ebel Beluga appears larger than it actually is. After all, with diameters of less than 30 mm, the models are anything, but large. The upper flanks of the case are often completely set with diamonds and add definition to the lines of the bracelet. Driven by precise quartz movements, a few models in the Beluga series offer an additional date complication. However, the exception proves the rule, which is why individual models like the Beluga (Ref. 8129960) feature an automatic movement and even have a perpetual calendar.

Models from the Ebel Beluga collection and their prices

When it comes to Ebel Beluga women's watches, it is not easy to keep track of all the different models. That's why we'd like to offer a short overview of some different Ebel Beluga watches and their prices on the pre-owned market.

  • The Ebel Beluga (Ref. 1215867) features a 26 mm stainless steel case and bracelet with a grey dial. The dark dial is offset by diamond indices and further accentuated by diamonds positioned on the flanks of the bezel. Powered by a Swiss quartz movement, this model has a water resistance of up to 50 meters and costs around €2,350 as a used 2012 model, including the original box and papers. Alternatively, this Beluga women's watch can be quickly, securely and easily financed online starting at €39 per month through one of our partners.

  • The exception proves the rule and so the Beluga by Ebel bearing the reference number E9057A28-10 features the look of a cuff. The case and bracelet can only be distinguished by the dial, as the width of the watch remains a constant 19 mm. This model is made of stainless steel and equipped with a precise quartz movement and a shimmering, silver mother-of-pearl dial, on which stick indices and diamonds display information about the current time. Boasting beguiling diamonds on the sides of the bezel, this pre-owned Beluga model costs about €1,480 as a full set or only €25 per month with a financing plan.

  • The gold Ebel Beluga (Ref. 866960) is a women's watch that does entirely without diamonds. Instead, this reference stands out with a 24 mm case and a bracelet made of solid yellow gold. A mother-of-pearl dial indicates the time using gold Roman numeral hour markers and a precise quartz movement. This Ebel Beluga is priced around €3,350 as a used model from 1989, or as little as €56 in monthly instalments.

  • This 27 mm stainless steel version of the Beluga watch with the reference 9157421 also has no diamonds on the case, but features both diamonds and Roman numeral hour markers on the blue mother-of-pearl dial. This watch is fitted with a high-quality quartz movement as well. This timepiece is available as a used model from 2017 for less than €1,000.

  • Find a watch on a leather strap with a slightly more pronounced tonneau shape with the Ebel Beluga (Ref. 9656G21). Measuring 23 mm in diameter, the stainless steel case houses a quartz movement, is equipped with a white mother-of-pearl dial and diamond indices, and has a water resistance of up to 30 meters. This Ebel Beluga asks a price of about €650 on the pre-owned market, which is an amazing deal.

  • The Beluga (Ref. 9003411) is an impressive timepiece with Roman numerals on a shimmering, blue mother-of-pearl dial combined with a 24 mm diameter case and a stainless steel bracelet. Find models from this reference in good condition priced at about €950, which is one reason why the Ebel Beluga Collection is particularly suitable as an option for entry-level luxury timepieces.

Is the Ebel Beluga a good investment?

First, a clear distinction must be made between investment and value. It is obvious that not all luxury watches are suitable as a profitable investment. This includes a large part of the Ebel Beluga collection because these models are not expected to make huge leaps in value. Nevertheless, watches from the Ebel brand are dependable timepieces offering superb quality that are generally quite stable in value. The watches from Ebel and the Beluga Collection are a good example of the general stability of value in luxury watches. A big name isn't always a necessity, but it is a rather uncompromising quality, which should always be the focus of attention.

Other watch collections by Ebel

  • The Wave collection is arguably the most popular series by the manufacturer and enchants with its curvaceous lines and harmonious proportions, which are highlighted by the use of high-quality materials. Subtle understatement and suitability for everyday wear will help models from this collection quickly become your new, favourite watch.

  • The Ebel Brasilia is a collection full of elegance and levity. Rectangular cases and a rather classic overall appearance seem to suggest a rather conservative collection, but with the Brasilia, it proves to be both modern and timeless

  • The manufacturer demonstrates its versatility with the Ebel Discovery series. Instead of elegant timepieces for everyday wear in the office, the Discovery Collection features robust models for those who like to push themselves beyond their limits – all while maintaining the brand's classic look.

  • With the Ebel 1911, the watchmaker reminisces about the brand's beginnings and its founding year of 1911. From harmonious ladies' watches to sporty men's watches with a chronograph complication, this series delivers everything your heart desires.
