Design and technology of the Master Collection series

On a technical level, the Longines Master Collection is a continuation of the brand's engineering masterpieces and offers all models with a mechanical movement that can be admired through a sapphire crystal back. The design of the dial ranges from minimalist understatement to complex variations in which a second time zone can be read in tandem. Thanks to its comparably affordable prices, the series quickly became a bestseller at Longines and was expanded to include various models such as chronographs with or without moon phases.

In 2017, Longines launched the Blue Edition, giving wearers even more dial colour options. The distinctive dials are now also available in powerful marine blue or sparkling silver.

Elegance is an attitude: The Master Collection and its brand ambassadors

Staying true to its motto “Elegance is an attitude”, Longines calls its brand ambassadors “Ambassadors of Elegance”. For the Master Collection, the company was able to win over the self-confessed watch enthusiasts and actors Simon Baker and Eddie Peng, among others. Throughout its history, the brand has always been involved in sport.

While Longines established its name as a timekeeper of choice in equestrian sports, the company ventured into tennis over the years and is now also an official sponsor of the French Open. Tennis legend Andre Agassi is also an ambassador for the Master Collection and can occasionally be seen sporting the Triple Date Chronograph Moonphase. Longines have also established themselves in the world of skiing and have successfully brought the international star ski racer Aksel Lund Svindal on board as the face of the brand’s Master Collection.

  • The predecessor and inspiration for the Master Collection is the Longines Heritage which pays tribute to its own company history with its models and especially celebrates its initial success in aviation.

  • With the Dolce Vita Longines also offers one of the most popular series of ladies' watches. With Italian flair this model combines steel and gold to create unique, rectangular creations, which are also available with diamond embellishments.

  • The Longines Evidenza on the other hand is inspired by the Art Deco of the twenties. With its blue numbers and a large yet unobtrusive case, it has already seduced the likes of tennis legend Steffi Graf - and maybe even you soon!
