These are the current collections of Union Glashütte

  • Inspired by the classic models of the 50s and 60s, the Noramis collection is an elegant dress-watch collection. The design of the watches is reminiscent of a different, stylish and mysterious era, but incorporates the latest technical standards inside. Exceptional extras such as cambered sapphire crystal or domed dials give the models additional uniqueness.

  • Designed for movement, action and excitement - that's the Belisar collection. It is perfect for a sporty everyday life, but can also be combined with a suit. Particular care was taken in the production to make the watch extremely impact resistant and robust. It is the right companion for any adventure. Complex functions and colorful accents create a refreshing dynamic style of the dial. The screwed-on the flanks of the watch are a real eye-catcher and also offer exceptional material combinations.

  • The exact opposite is the Viro collection. The design speaks a straightforward, tidy design language. The clear dial directs the undivided attention to the current moment, without distracting from the essentials by many gadgets. Self-confident and unobtrusive, the watches in the collection accompany their wearers through their daily routine, while the durable stainless steel case makes them extremely durable and reliable.

  • The Series collection was developed especially for self-confident women. The watches exude a fresh, sporty elegance. In this collection, Union Glashütte SA once again proved that modernity and classicism are not mutually opponents. Not only technically is the series at the highest level, the design also meets today's standards. The curved sword hands, which are often found in older watches, harmonize perfectly with the modern dial, which is almost minimalist.

  • Another ladies' watch collection is the Sirona. These watches are a combination of practical timepiece and filigree pieces of jewelry. So the models of the series fit to every outfit and are able to give the famous finishing touch. The dials are made of different materials, with different patterns and colors. Shiny mother of pearl models, for example, make every wrist sparkle.

These reasons speak in favor of buying a Union Glashütte watch

The history of Union Glashütte

The German watchmaker Johannes Dürrstein founded the company Dürrstein & Comp. in 1893 to produce timepieces that could offer the buyer the famous Glashütte precision standard at significantly lower prices. To achieve that, he used for a long time cases which were not made of gold. The company's portfolio soon consisted out of a wide range of watch models. From robust utility watches to high-complex precision watches, you will find nearly every category in the portfolio of the new brand.

It was no surprise to anyone that the world's most complicated watch, the La Fabuleuse, first shown in public in 1901, was launched under the brand name Union. 7 sub-dials with a total of 13 hands were found on the timepiece. All of them turned at the same time.
Among the complications: Perpetual calendar, moon phase and a leap year display. A special highlight was the double chronograph with a jumping second. This watch is still produced in Glashütte today.

In 1933 the operational business of the company was closed and even deleted from the commercial registers. It was just in 1996 that the watch factory Union Glashütte / SA. again opened under the direction of H. W. Pfeifer.
Since then, the Glashütte watch company has been producing high quality German watches under the name Union Glashütte and Glashütte Original. Both brands were acquired in 2000 by the international company Swatch Group AG.

Since 2008, the watches have been equipped with the well-known movements of its now sister company ETA. Nevertheless, production is at least 51% in the hand of Glashütte, which means that they are still allowed to carry the title “Glashütte Made”.

The Philosophy of Union Glashütte

The company's philosophy dates back to 1893: High-quality Glashütte watches at a reasonable price. The brand has remained faithful to this principle even after its second opening. The watches are currently sold exclusively in Germany and Austria on a price range from € 1,000 up to € 3,000 - an excellent price-performance ratio. In some cases particular models, with special ornaments or materials, might be out of this price range.
