Daytona

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona ranks among the most coveted chronographs in the world. Introduced in 1963 and named after Daytona Beach in Florida, a location steeped in motor racing tradition, it was developed for the needs of racing drivers. The tachymetric scale on the bezel allows the measurement of average speeds, and three subdials make the stopped time clearly legible. Whether in steel, gold or platinum, with a metal or Cerachrom bezel: the Daytona combines sporting precision with distinctive elegance.

The 116520, with its 40 mm case, was produced from 2000 to 2016 and is the Daytona in pure stainless steel. The tachymeter bezel is also made of steel and, unlike on the later Cerachrom variants, is crafted from metal. It is worn on the steel Oyster bracelet with folding clasp.

This example with a white dial is in excellent condition. It comes as a full set with the original papers and the original box. Production of this model has been discontinued - this is a sought-after collector's piece!
